Manufacturing (small and mid-size manufacturers / job shops)

Secure remote access to drawings
and production management systems.

Access design drawings and production management systems from home or on the road. ForceLink lets each person connect to only the resources they actually need, so office and design staff can work remotely with confidence.

Common challenges

Protect the drawings, but use them outside too.

No safe way to work with design drawings from home — relying on email or USB drives.

Need to check production management systems from off-site or another location.

Trading partners, temporary staff, and former employees tend to retain access — a persistent worry.

No bandwidth to keep up with VPN appliance vulnerabilities and updates.

With ForceLink

Scope access to drawings and production systems
by staff member.

You define "who connects to which server." Even after the tunnel is up, the full internal LAN is not opened — only the permitted destinations are reachable (feature: internal resource and route control).

  • Permit each person only the destinations they need — drawings, production management system, etc.
  • The admin console is not permanently exposed to the internet
  • Key-based connections. With the standard Windows app, private keys are generated and stored on the device only
  • Revoke access for trading partners, temporary staff, and former employees immediately

* Illustrative example. Scoped to office and design remote access; factory control systems are not in scope.

* This service covers IT systems used for office and design work. Factory control systems (OT: PLCs, production equipment, etc.) are out of scope and require separate, specialist security measures.

Data location

Operated in a domestic data center.

The cloud relay runs in a domestic (Japan) data center — not overseas — making it straightforward to know where data resides. The service is operated by Forcenet Co., Ltd., a Japanese company.

Good fit

  • Want to connect Windows business PCs to drawings and production management systems securely
  • Want to scope what each staff member can access
  • No dedicated IT staff — want to delegate the complex setup
  • Want to know the total cost before starting

May not be the right fit

  • Primary goal is protecting factory control systems (OT) (out of scope)
  • MFA is a hard requirement (currently not available)
  • Primary devices are Mac or smartphones / already running a large-scale zero-trust infrastructure
Pricing

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from manufacturers.

Can a company with no dedicated IT staff deploy ForceLink?

Yes. Forcenet handles the complex parts — cloud setup and initial ForceLink BOX configuration. Place the ForceLink BOX at the office and distribute invitation codes to users.

Can drawings and production management systems be used securely from outside the office?

Internal resource and route control lets you scope each user's connection to only the drawings, production management systems, and other destinations they need. The admin console is not permanently exposed to the internet, and the cloud relay runs in a domestic (Japan) data center. Access control also supports maintaining the "managed access" requirement that can contribute to trade-secret status under Japanese law. We do not promise absolute security.

Are factory control systems (OT) in scope?

No. This service covers IT systems used by office and design staff for remote access. Factory control systems — PLCs, production equipment, and other OT systems — are out of scope because an unplanned shutdown directly affects production. Separate, specialist OT security measures are required for those systems.

Does ForceLink support multi-factor authentication (MFA) or Mac?

The standard client is a dedicated Windows app; connections are key-based. MFA is currently under consideration (not yet available). Mac and smartphone access is handled on a case-by-case basis. If MFA is a hard requirement, please consult us before starting.
