FAQ

Your questions —
answered honestly.

What ForceLink does today, and what it does not yet do — stated plainly, without exaggeration. That is the ForceLink standard.

Older VPN appliances are targeted because the management interface is exposed to the internet and because access relies on passwords alone. ForceLink is designed to avoid those weaknesses: the admin console is not publicly accessible, and connections are key-based.

We do not claim absolute security. What we do claim is a design that avoids the most common attack surfaces of legacy VPN equipment.

ForceLink is best described as a modernly redesigned VPN. It does not cover all the functions a SASE product provides (such as web filtering). It focuses on secure remote access to internal systems, delivered as a drop-in appliance.

For a full comparison by approach, see the comparison page.

Yes. Forcenet handles the difficult parts — cloud environment setup and initial ForceLink BOX configuration. Your team simply places the BOX and distributes invitation codes.
In most cases, no. You connect the ForceLink BOX to your LAN and remote work is available without major changes to your existing network.
The standard offering is a dedicated Windows app for Windows 11 (connect simply by entering an invitation code). Mac, iPhone, and Android can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis (for a small number of users, with configuration issued by an administrator).
¥0 initial fee. ForceLink BOX, cloud relay, and initial setup are included in the monthly or annual fee. ForceLink charges a flat fee based on the number of user slots, with no per-user add-on charges. Monthly plans are billed monthly, annual plans are billed yearly. Custom quote for 51+ users.

Specific amounts are on the pricing page. Standard plans (up to 50 users, single site) are self-serve from the site. Exception cases go through the contact & support form.

The standard plan assumes up to 50 users, a single site, and a standard configuration — so it can be sold with a public price, ¥0 initial fee, and minimal lead time. 51+ users involve additional BOX units and bandwidth that scale with the business, multi-site requires inter-site routing design, and high-availability configurations differ widely by redundancy and failover model. We size these after a short intake and issue an individual quote and contract.
From the contact & support form, choose the "Exception case" inquiry type and share your configuration (number of sites, users, high-availability requirements, BOX purchase, etc.). After confirming the requirements we issue an individual quote and contract. Public terms / service spec / support spec apply as a baseline, with configuration-specific clauses agreed separately.

Use the contact & support form for exception cases; standard plans can be purchased directly from the pricing page.

Yes. Plans are available starting at 5 users. ForceLink is designed to be manageable even without a dedicated IT person. Pricing is a flat fee based on user slots (see the pricing page for details).
For monthly plans, cancellation takes effect at the end of the month in which we receive your request. Annual plans cannot be canceled mid-term; a cancellation request is treated as a request to stop renewal at the end of the annual contract period. In either case, we do not provide prorated calculations or refunds when cancellation takes effect.
With the standard dedicated Windows app, private keys are generated on the employee's PC and never leave the device (only the public key is shared with the cloud). For Mac, iPhone, and Android users on the individual accommodation method, the administrator issues configuration using a separate method (the configuration is displayed once and not stored).
Yes. Deactivating the employee in the admin console removes them from the VPN path and they can no longer connect to internal systems.
Yes. Administrators configure on the ForceLink BOX side which internal resources (server IP, port) each employee may use. The policy is enforced by the appliance and cannot be overridden by the client device.

Control is at the destination IP, port, and protocol level — not by application name or business-system identification. Employees without a policy configured can reach the entire internal LAN, so policies should be applied as needed.

VPN connections are key-based. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is not currently supported (support is under consideration).
In most cases, yes. You connect the ForceLink BOX to your LAN without major changes to your existing network. We design around your current configuration — please confirm the details in a free consultation.
Employee PCs connect through the cloud relay to the on-site ForceLink BOX. The service is designed for typical business use (file sharing, business systems).

Actual speeds depend on your internet connection and usage conditions.

Yes. The admin console shows per-user connection status, last connection time, and approximate data transferred. Administrative actions such as issuing invitations and deactivating users are recorded in the audit log. Note that the product interface (admin console and the dedicated Windows app) is currently Japanese-first.
Forcenet handles ongoing operations. In the event of a hardware failure, we will guide you through a replacement process.

For full details of the support scope, please check during a free consultation.

We accept inquiries by web form. Forcenet also handles initial setup and configuration changes. Sales and support are based in Tokyo, Japan. We welcome inquiries in English by email.
Lead time depends on the scope of your order (number of sites, design requirements). Pricing is on the pricing page. For specifics, please contact us via "Request a free consultation."
ForceLink as a service is new, but its provider — Forcenet — has been operating its own VPN service since 2017. From the outset, the service used certificate (key)-based authentication rather than passwords, and has continued to run securely. Forcenet also has extensive experience in network system integration. Building on that foundation, ForceLink runs the cloud relay infrastructure at domestic data centers (Japan), isolates each company's environment, keeps the admin console off the public internet, and uses key-based connections throughout. Because the service is new, we present no unverified numbers — you can judge it by its design. You can start small with our monthly plan and verify for yourself.

Our background and approach are explained in more detail on the trust page.

Forcenet handles the initial setup and access control design. The changeover can be done gradually — starting with a subset of users — without major changes to your existing network.
ForceLink is a connection path to your internal environment, not a storage service that holds your files. Your data remains on your own servers. Upon cancellation, your account (connection) is deactivated. Full details of account and configuration handling will be explained at the time of contract.
Day-to-day tasks on your side are minimal. Adding or deactivating users, and changes to access control destinations, can be requested from Forcenet. The service is designed so you do not have to take on complex operations in-house.
